They can squeeze the lemons and watch the juice flow out into the water. They can smell the glorious fresh smell they produce and taste the sour, sharp and refreshing taste that lemons give! Not to mention the wonderful vibrant colour.

Sand play also helps to strengthen children's fine motor skills by using tools to fill and empty containers, as well as giving them a chance to do some fantastic mark making. Anything can be added to the sand - cars, diggers, colanders....the list is endless!!

Did you know exploring mud, dirt, natural materials and getting messy in the outdoors can stimulate a wide scope of the curriculum and learning for all to enjoy? Playing in mud inspires children to feel a connection between nature and learning.

We have been working hard to enhance the invitations to play and provocations provided in the Outdoors. This week we have added a 'Water Channelling' station for the boys and girls to explore.
